ZTE Axon 7 Mini

Android 8.0 is just on the horizon and while some companies might not be thinking of pushing more Nougat updates than v7.0, ZTE isn’t one of them.

The company has a poor reputation when it comes to software updates and general customer support, but the ZTE Axon 7 Mini is not going to suffer from this known habit. The company is now rolling out the update to Android 7.1.1 Nougat to the phone, which also adds a bunch of new features to the budget handset.

There’s the addition of new emojis as well as support for multiple languages to up the communication experience on the phone. Also, the ZTE Axon 7 Mini is finally getting support for multi-window mode that most devices received with the original version of the OS. The update also comes with a revamped notification shade, enhanced Doze mode and an improved Settings menu.

If you are on T-Mobile, this Nougat update also adds Wi-Fi Calling support for the Axon 7 Mini, which makes it a vital update for those who want to enjoy calling without using cellular data. The update is rolling out over the air and as such, it will take time before all units get the notification to download it.

For those who can’t wait for the notification, you may check for the update manually via Settings>About phone, but make sure you have a stable internet connection and at least 30% battery juice before jumping into the whole thing.
