After Sprint and AT&T started rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat to Samsung Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6, S6 Edge and S6 Edge+, Verizon has also joined the party with a Nougat update to the Note 5 and S6 Edge+.
Verizon is known for its sluggish nature when it comes to rolling out software updates, however, the carrier has given pacesetters Sprint and AT&T an emphatic response by rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat OTA update to the Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge+, just after the two carriers had started doing so. Where the Galaxy Note 5 is getting software version N920VVRU3CQB9, the Galaxy S6 Edge+ is being updated to software version G928VVRU3CQB9.
As usual, you’ll get everything that is related to Android 7.0 Nougat, including an enhanced Doze mode for battery saving, direct replies from notification and split-screen view, among others. The update is rolling out over the air and as such, not all Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge+ units will receive the OTA notification at once. To jump in front of the queue, you can visit the Settings app>About phone>System update and check for the updates manually.
Make sure your phone is connected to the internet through Wi-Fi and the battery is at least 50% charged before you proceed with downloading and installing the Nougat update on your Note 5 or S6 Edge+.
