The first image of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 8 has just appeared online thanks to notorious leaker Evan Blass.

Blass has an impeccable track record when it comes to leaking smartphones. He has done it before and we have reason to believe that this is indeed the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 8, which has appeared in a Midnight Black color variant.

If you have been following stories of the Note 8 closely, you should know that the phone will be unveiled on August 23rd at an Unpacked event in New York. So far, we had seen a series of leaked images based on renders, but what Blass is presenting us could be part of the official press material for the event to be held three weeks from now.

From the image, we can see massive similarities with the already released Samsung Galaxy S8, but as expected, there are a few tweaks here and there. For instance, the edges of the display screen are not as rounded as what appears on the S8 and S8+, however, the screen remains curved running from edge to edge with close to no bezels on the top and bottom.

There are no physical buttons like what appeared on the Galaxy Note 7, confirming that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will also stick to on-screen keys like the S8 family. The volume rockers and the dedicated Bixby button are noticeable on the left side of the phone and on the right, you see the power button, just like they appear on the S8 and S8+.

The top bezel houses a selfie camera, an iris scanner, earpiece, notification LED light, autofocus sensor and proximity sensor, but Blass did not give us a view of the back panel, which is believed to house a dual-lens camera and the fingerprint scanner. However, we still have plenty of time for more details about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 8 show up.

Specs-wise, the Note 8 is rumored to be coming with a 6.3-inch QHD+ screen with an Infinity Display, a Snapdragon 835 SoC mated with 6GB RAM and at least 64GB of storage. The battery capacity will reportedly be 3300mAh and for the software, Android 7.1.1 Nougat will run the show out of the box.

If rumors are true, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will be the most expensive phone Sammy has ever released to date priced at $1000 and beyond, depending on the storage option you choose to go with.
