The new Samsung Galaxy Note 8, which is actually the next Samsung phone with waterproof capabilities, has now received an official release date.
A month ago, there were rumors that the new Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will be unveiled on August 26. A company official added more weight to this date by saying that the phone will indeed be launched in late August, but fresh details emerged with a supposed August 23 launch date.
Now, to confirm the latter report, Samsung has come out with official details of an Unpacked event that will be held on August 23 in New York City. We all know what happened to the previous Galaxy Note 7, but Samsung is hopeful that things will be much better with the Note 8, which has already featured in a number of leaks and renders.
The invite shows off a new Samsung Galaxy Note 8, really. The phone has fairly small bezels, although it looks larger than the Galaxy S8 and S8+. Furthermore, the invite material includes a blue S Pen, which indeed confirms that this is the next Samsung phone we’ve all been waiting for.
From what we’ve heard, the new Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will ship with a 6.3-inch Infinity Display screen with a QHD+ resolution and 18.5:9 aspect ratio, a Snapdragon 835/Exynos 8895 chipset, 6GB RAM, at least 64GB of internal storage and a pair of 12MP lenses on the back alongside a fingerprint scanner. The battery capacity will be 3300mAh with support for fast charging.
As expected, this will be the next Samsung phone with waterproof capabilities and support for Samsung DeX, which made its debut with the S8 family. The S Pen will also be in place, as usual.
We still have about a month before August 23 is here and knowing the tech industry, this is plenty of time for us to get more details on this new Samsung Galaxy Note 8 phablet. Stay tuned and we’ll keep you updated.
