There are so many smartphones that it can at times be difficult when it comes to choosing which phone is best for you, especially in cases where there’re lots of similarities such as those found on the Tecno Phantom 6 Plus and Infinix Zero 4 Plus.
These two phones are the current go-to models in the midrange market, which means that you can grab either at a price lower than ksh 30,000. In order to ensure that you end up with what you really want, here’s a head-to-head comparison between the Tecno Phantom 6 Plus and Infinix Zero 4 Plus in terms of specs, features, and prices so far in Kenya.
Tecno Phantom 6 Plus
At the moment, you can get your hands on the Tecno Phantom 6 Plus at a price of just ksh 28,500. For this price, you get a phone that features a nice premium build with a metallic unibody and well-rounded edges. In terms of display, the Phantom 6 Plus ships with a massive 5.95-inch IPS screen with a 1080p resolution.
Under the hood, the Tecno Phantom 6 Plus gives you one of the most powerful MediaTek processors in the shape of Helio X20. This deca-core chipset is paired with a RAM of 4GB and a storage of 64GB, which can also be expanded via a microSD card slot. For the cameras, the phablet ships with two powerful lenses, with the back camera housing a 21MP Sony sensor that comes with autofocus, LED flash and can record videos of up to 1080p resolution whereas the front has an 8MP shooter for selfies.
To keep the Tecno Phantom 6 Plus alive is a decent 4050mAh battery unit that is charged via the latest USB Type-C port that also supports fast charging technology. This means you don’t have to wait for hours in order to charge the battery from 0-100%. Software-wise, the Phantom 6 Plus has Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. You also get 4G LTE connectivity, as well as a fingerprint and iris scanner for enhanced security and authentication purposes.
Infinix Zero 4 Plus
The Infinix Zero 4 Plus is another device that you’ll for sure love, especially since it is priced at a lower price than the Tecno Phantom 6 Plus, coming in at just ksh 25,499.
For this price tag, the Infinix Zero 4 Plus gives you a premium full metal unibody design that features a nice touch and curved edges, which makes the phone feel great in one’s hands. In terms of display space, you get a 5.98-inch IPS screen that is hard to differentiate from the Phantom 6 Plus when placed side by side. The resolution is also the same at 1080p and in order to protect it from cracks and breakages caused by accidental drops, you get Corning’s 2.5D Gorilla Glass 4 technology on top of the screen.
Under the hood, the Infinix Zero 4 Plus has the same specs as the Tecno Phantom 6 Plus, where you get a MediaTek Helio X20 processor that is paired with a RAM of 4GB and the same storage space of 64GB. This storage can also be expanded via a microSD card, just in case it’s not enough.
If you love taking photos, the Infinix Zero 4 Plus is just what you need. Even though the phone has the same 21MP sensor on the back as the Phantom 6 Plus, it has more (and better) features on the table. These include an aperture of f/2.0 that means the sensor lets in more light even when you are in a dark place, hence capturing great shots; optical image stabilization that reduces blur caused by shaking hands and motions; laser autofocus and LED flash, among others. The Camera app also gets a bunch of features that include 4X Sharper Zoom and several manual controls in Pro Mode. All of these features account for better shots taken by the main camera when compared to the Tecno phone.
It gets even better with the front camera, where you get a 13MP shooter with a slightly smaller aperture of f/2.2, but you still get the best shots thanks to the wide-angle lens used that captures more details, as well as a front-facing LED flash for lighting up the place in case there’s no adequate light. To keep the Infinix Zero 4 Plus alive is a 4000mAh battery that is also supported by fast charging technology over the older microUSB standard.
In terms of software, there’s Android Marshmallow out of the box with an update to Android 7.0 Nougat almost ready. You also get extras such as a 4G LTE connectivity and a fingerprint scanner, but there’s no iris scanning technology like the Tecno Phantom 6 Plus.
