It’s not long since the Tecno N8S came to life but it seems the Chinese company is already getting ready with the handset’s successor dubbed the Tecno N9S.
In a recent benchmark listing on Geekbench, the Tecno N9S made an appearance, revealing a few major specs that we can expect from the phone. Being a successor to the N8S, we expect the tech giant to unveil a device that is an upgrade over its predecessor and for sure this looks like one.
If the Geekbench listing is to be believed, the Tecno N9S will ship with a MediaTek MT6737 quad-core processor that is clocked at a speed of 1.25GHz. This is a 2016 processor and as such, we expect it to support some of the latest standards, including 4G LTE connectivity, among others.
The MT6737 processor will be paired with a RAM of 1GB and the phone will come powered by Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. In the benchmarks, the phone managed a score of 511 during single-core tests and a better 1470 during multi-core tests.
When compared to the Tecno N8S, the upcoming model has a few upgrades here and there. The former has a 5-inch HD screen, which should be retained, but the MediaTek MT6580 SoC is no more. The N8S has a 1GB RAM and storage of 8GB, which can be expanded by a microSD card of up to 32GB. It would indeed be a pleasure if the Tecno N9S came in with at least 16GB of internal storage.
The Tecno N8S has a 5MP camera on the back and a 2MP sensor for selfies. We don’t know if the Tecno N9S will keep these features, but an upgrade to 8MP and 5MP, respectively, would be a huge welcome for many fans. We should get clearer details in the coming days and update you. Stay tuned!
