We know that the Tecno Camon CX will be unveiled tomorrow, however, we have very little details of what specs and features this phone will come with.
For one thing, the Tecno Camon CX will be an upgrade over its predecessor Camon C9, a phone that has been on the market for about eight months now. However, we also expect a number of specs to be carried over from the 2016 model, among them some design cues, memory options as well as the display screen, just to name but a few.
The outgoing Tecno Camon C9 came in with an octa-core MediaTek MT6753 processor clocked at 1.3GHz and paired with a 2GB RAM. If the listing on Geekbench is to be believed, despite making an appearance back in November 2016, it appears that the Tecno Camon CX will ship with a newer MediaTek MT6750T processor.
Although the model numbers of the MT6753 SoC and MT6750T SoC might suggest that the former is the newer model, well, this is not the case. In fact, the latter was manufactured with the aim of replacing the MT6753 variant in the midrange market.
Like the 2016 variant, the upcoming Tecno Camon CX should also keep the same 2GB RAM, but you can be sure that Android 7.0 Nougat will be running the show, probably with a newer version of the HiOS skin on top. From what it looks like, this was an early benchmark for the Camon CX, especially since we can’t really tell the processor’s clock speed.
As for the rest of the specs, rumors suggest that the Tecno Camon CX will come in with a 5.5-inch LCD screen with a 1080p resolution. The storage will also stay at 16GB, but of course, this will be expandable via a microSD card of up to 128GB. Tecno Mobile is also expected to make some improvements to the cameras, battery capacity and other aspects of the phone.
The Camon CX will be made official alongside the smaller Camon CX Air at an event to be held tomorrow at Nairobi’s Safari Park Hotel.
