T-Mobile has confirmed that Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ Android 7.0 Nougat update rollout will commence next week.
This is according to the carrier’s project manager Des Smith, who made the information public via a tweet. The phablet Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ was unveiled in August 2015, which means it’ll be two years old in a few months’ time.
Perhaps, this is the only reasonable explanation why the device is receiving the update to Android 7.0 Nougat eight months since the OS first started rolling out to the public.
Don’t expect anything different from the Nougat update that is coming to the Galaxy S6 Edge+ on T-Mobile when compared to what other carriers or rather variants of the same handset are getting. There’s an improved doze mode, some cool tweaks to the user interface as well as a new multi-view feature for supported Android apps.

As you can see from the tweet, there’s no specific date as to when this OS will be released. However, the mention of “early next week” should be enough to confirm the expected release of the OS. Take note that this Nougat treat is only rolling out to T-Mobile’s Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+.
For now, the carrier has not mentioned a thing regarding when the standard Galaxy S6 will also be joining the Nougat party. If you use a Galaxy S6 Edge+ on T-Mobile, you can watch out for the OTA notification as from Monday next week. Since the OS will be rolling out over the air, not all units will be notified on the same day.
The process is staged and as such, it may take days to complete. You may also do a manual check by going to Settings>About phone>Software update.
