If you are using the HTC One M9 on Sprint carrier, there’s something really cool for you starting today – Android 7.0 Nougat OTA update.
The update has just been made live and so far, it is available over the air. It’s not long since T-Mobile did the same with its version of HTC One M9 and even though the update comes months after the unlocked models received the same treat, it’s always better to be late than never.
HTC One M9 users on Sprint can watch out for a software version 4.27.651.4, which weighs 1.02GB. In addition to installing the latest Android 7.0 Nougat and all goodies associated with the OS, this OTA update will also improve the general stability and performance of your One M9 as well as up the security patch level to February 2017, which is not the latest version in town. Last week, Google released the security update for the month of April and going by the latest update, it is possible that Sprint users of the One M9 could be facing a long wait before this month’s update hits the device.
As noted earlier, all HTC One M9 users on Sprint will receive the OS as an OTA. This means that it will be rolling out gradually, with some users set to wait for days or even a week before they get notified to download and install the new OS. If you can’t wait, go to your One M9’s Settings>About phone>System update>Check for updates manually and if the files are ready for your device, you should be able to download them straight away.
Before you proceed, however, ensure that you are connected to the internet via a Wi-Fi hotspot unless downloading a whopping 1.02GB on cellular data is not a problem for you. Also keep the battery power above 50%, even if it means leaving the phone connected to a power source during the update process.
