Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 2015 cleared by Wi-Fi Alliance with Android 7.0 Nougat, update may roll out soon

Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0

Back in May, the 2016 Samsung Galaxy Tab A was updated to Android 7.0 Nougat OS, but there was no word on when the 2015 variant would join the party.

As it appears, it won’t be long before the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 2015 starts receiving the update to Android 7.0 Nougat. The tablet has just cleared Wi-Fi Alliance with the OS on board, an indicator that Samsung is getting ready to update the tablet to the latest OS.

The Wi-Fi alliance has cleared multiple variants of the Tab A 8.0 2015, including the S Pen and non-S Pen models. This is good news for owners of the tablets as it means that the OS will be rolled out to these devices at a go. Also, the clearance of multiple variants suggests that the OS will be released to different markets at about the same time, which is even better.

If you own a non-S Pen variant of Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 2015 with model number SM-T350, SM-T350X, SM-T355, SM-T355C, SM-T355Y or the S Pen variant with model number SM-P355Y, SM-P355C, SM-P355, among others; you can rest assured that Android 7.0 Nougat will be headed your way really soon.

As you may know already, this will be the second major OS upgrade for the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 2015, which also means that it will be its last. The certification covers both the Wi-Fi and non-Wi-Fi variants of each model.
