Samsung Galaxy S6 users are the next in line to receive the update to Android Nougat OS after the same happened with Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge not so long ago.
The Nougat treat started hitting Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge devices less than two weeks ago. In fact, the major rollout begun last week, but those who took part in the beta program had started receiving the OS the previous week.
According to a discovery made by Sam Mobile, it appears that those using the 2015 flagship will be receiving Android Nougat OTA update in the next few days or weeks for that matter. A short trip to the benchmarking website GFXBench will reveal a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ (SM-G928) phone listed with Android Nougat running the show. This shouldn’t mean that the update is ready, but it means that it won’t be long before it starts rolling out.
As for the smaller Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, the Wi-Fi Alliance has already certified just about all variants of the phones and like the S6 Edge+, there is Android Nougat taking care of the software side of things. Whether you are using a Verizon model, T-Mobile, Sprint or maybe you live in Europe, China, Korea, India, or wherever you are, Android Nougat will soon be hitting your Galaxy S6, S6 Edge or S6 Edge+ phone via an OTA update.
None of these leaks gives out details on when the three phones, including the unmentioned Samsung Galaxy Note 5, will be ready to receive the update. But we’ll keep following the matter and let you know when exactly this will be going down. Keep it TWG!
