After Europe, India and Sri Lanka have now joined the party, with users of Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ in these markets now able to download and install the latest Android 7.0 Nougat OS on this phone.
The update rolling out in these markets is headed to the Galaxy S6 Edge+ with model number SM-G928G and it comes with firmware version G928GDDU3CQC7. Besides installing the latest Nougat OS, this OTA update also brings March’s Android security patch to the S6 Edge+.
As mentioned above, this update to Android 7.0 Nougat is rolling out over the air. This means that it will take some time before all Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ units with model number SM-G928G receive the OTA notification instructing them to download and install the Nougat update. If your phone has this model number, you don’t have to wait for the notification. Simply open your phone’s Settings>About phone>System updates>Check for updates and that’s it!
If the Nougat update is ready for your Galaxy S6 Edge+, you should be able to download and install it right away. Otherwise, keep trying the same procedure and you might just get lucky after several tries. Since the update is huge, it is recommended that you connect to the internet using Wi-Fi. Also, make sure that you have charged your phone’s battery to at least 50% before proceeding with the update process.
