The Oppo A57 has already hit the Kenyan market priced at Ksh 23,999, however, it appears that this same phone is set for a second release in other markets – but with a new name.
According to a report by Android Pure, the Oppo A57 will enter several markets with the name tag Oppo F3 Lite. Just in case you didn’t know, the Chinese OEM has already unveiled the Oppo F3 and F3 Plus, but it’s only the standard F3 that has hit Kenyan stores.
The Oppo F3 and F3 Plus are phones that are targeting the selfie lovers thanks to a dual 16MP+8MP front camera. The Oppo A57 also ships with a decent 16MP selfie shooter and if this report is to be believed, it’s possible that the alleged Oppo F3 Lite will keep the same camera specs, alongside a 13MP lens on the back that supports PDAF, has an f/2.2 aperture and LED flash.
Other touted specs and features of this Oppo F3 Lite handset include a 5.2-inch 720p display screen, a Snapdragon 435 SoC that is clocked at 1.4GHz and paired with a RAM of 3GB, same as the Oppo A57. The storage will be at 32GB with room for expanding it via a microSD card and software-wise, Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow will run the show.
There are also no changes to the battery capacity, with the same 2900mAh unit used in the Oppo A57 being retained on the Oppo F3 Lite. Similarly, there’s no support for fast charging, but you still get a front-mounted fingerprint scanner, 4G LTE connectivity as well as dual-SIM support.
So far, there are no details of when and where the Oppo F3 Lite will be released. However, we have reason to believe that Oppo won’t sell the phone in markets where it has already released the Oppo A57 due to the similarities between the pair. We’ll, however, update you when the details come out sooner or later. Keep following.
