Google has already announced the first developer preview of the new Android O, but there are lots of devices out here that are yet to see the 2016 Android 7.0 Nougat update.
In a rare gesture, it appears that Infinix Mobility has something great really coming for users of a number of its smartphones namely Infinix Zero 3, Infinix Zero 4, Infinix Hot 4, Infinix Hot S and Infinix Hot S Pro. While the report doesn’t come directly from the company, it comes from someone who is close to the Hong Kong-based tech giant.
The tipster confirms that the 2015 Infinix Zero 3 will be part of the new Android 7.0 Nougat OTA update when it starts rolling out, but there’s no mention of the date when this will actually happen. Given that the Infinix Zero 4 comes preinstalled with Android Marshmallow out of the box and that it’s the successor to the Zero 3, we are confident that it will also follow in the footsteps of its predecessor and receive the update to Android 7.0 Nougat.
Just in case you didn’t know, the Infinix Zero 4 and its counterpart Infinix Zero 4 Plus are the company’s latest high-end phones. This makes the Infinix Hot series the midrange offering and given that the tipster also suggests that the Nougat update will be coming to the likes of Infinix Hot 4, Hot S and Hot S Pro, this is indeed a great thing from the company.
We don’t know if this list will change and include more devices or take away some, but hopefully the former is the case. Furthermore, we can’t really tell when exactly this update to Android 7.0 Nougat will be available to these Infinix devices, but we’ll follow up the matter and let you know the expected release date.
