When most of us think about smartphones with big batteries, a figure that usually comes to our mind is 5000mAh or maybe 6000mAh to the extreme.
However, the Oukitel K10000 has something different to offer. As the name suggests, this Chinese-made phone has a massive battery unit of 10,000mAh. This is nothing like I’ve seen before on a smartphone, but it does feature a lot on power banks. The company says this battery can last 10 to 15 days on a single charge and it only needs 3.5 hours to charge from 0 to 100%.
You can even turn provider when your friends’ phones start running out of power. This is because the Oukitel K10000 can also be used to charge other devices thanks to the supported USB OTG.
Going past the battery, the Oukitel K10000 is simply another entry-level phone. You will still come across a unique design that features hexa-faceted edges on the frame, both of which are curved and angular to give you a much better grip. The screen size is 5.5 inches with an HD resolution and under the hood, the phone has a MediaTek MT6735 quad-core processor clocked at 1GHz and paired with 2GB RAM.
For the storage, the K10000 has 16GB, which can be expanded using a microSD card of up to 32GB. Even though the cameras have an 8MP lens on the back with a LED flash and a 2MP sensor on the front, both can be stepped up to 13MP and 5MP, respectively, using the camera software. The Oukitel K10000 supports 4G LTE connectivity, has two SIM slots and being a 2015 phone, it runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box.
To grab one, Avechi is selling the phone at Ksh 16,499 instead of the usual Ksh 16,999. That means you save Ksh 500, which can be used for shipping the phone to your location.
