Over the recent past, a number of Oppo R11 leaks and rumors have been flooding the smartphone rumor mills, hinting that the phone’s release is just around the corner.
Well, this is actually the case as the Chinese certification body TENAA has just cleared the Oppo R11 alongside its sibling the Oppo R11 Plus. This revelation comes just after an image of the same Oppo R11 appeared in the wild showing off a dual-lens camera on the back alongside a sleek full metal body, but the TENAA listing puts a stamp to this earlier leak, confirming that the phone will indeed come with a dual-lens camera on the back.
There are similarities between the Oppo R11 and iPhone 7 Plus as far as placement of the camera is concerned. From the TENAA details, we also know what the R11 and R11 Plus will come with internally. Apparently, the two will share some specs and features, including a dual-lens 20MP+16MP camera on the back alongside a massive 20MP selfie shooter.
Under the hood, the Oppo R11 and R11 Plus will be among the first devices to come powered by the new Snapdragon 660 SoC that includes an Adreno 512 GPU, but the former will ship with a 5.5-inch Full HD AMOLED screen as opposed to the latter’s 6-inch Full HD AMOLED panel. Where the R11 will come with 4GB RAM and 64GB of expandable storage, the R11 Plus will ship with a bigger 6GB RAM and the same storage.
Software-wise, the Oppo R11 and R11 Plus will be doing the unusual by coming with Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box. Of course, the company’s ColorOS will be on top of the stock Nougat OS. To keep the R11 alive will be a 2900mAh battery unit while the R11 Plus will come with a bigger 3880mAh unit. The duo should feature fast charging technology.
Other features of the Oppo R11 and R11 Plus include a front-mounted fingerprint scanner that doubles as a Home button, support for 4G LTE connectivity, Bluetooth 4.2 and a dual-tone LED flash for the main camera.
You’ll be able to buy the Oppo R11 in three color variants of gold, black and silver while the R11 Plus will replace the silver variant with a rose gold finish but keep the other two colors from the R11. As for the release date, the two phones should be confirmed in the coming days, if not weeks.
