OnePlus 3T recently received a new color variant in the shape of midnight black. This finish was initially debuted on the Colette special edition, but later on moved on to the standard edition.
Just before the release of the OnePlus 3T successor, which could be called OnePlus 5, there’s a new color variant of the former device that has appeared online. If it’s indeed real, the 3T is about to get a chromium body.
The leaked images are very clear and they leave nothing to the imagination. The back camera and OnePlus logo are in place and so are the antenna bands. In fact, the clear presence of the latter feature confirms that this new finish isn’t as a result of mere painting, rather, the phone has gotten an entirely new back panel.
The alleged images of the chromium OnePlus 3T also reveal the bottom-facing USB Type-C port, the speaker, and the 3.5mm audio jack – just like they appear on the other variants of the phone. But keep in mind that the company hasn’t said any word regarding a new color variant being in the works for the 3T.
Despite the changes in appearance, the specs should remain unchanged. These include a 5.5-inch AMOLED screen with full HD resolution, Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor with 6GB RAM and two non-expandable storage options of either 64GB or 128GB. The OnePlus 3T also packs a 3400mAh battery unit, 16MP sensors on the front and back cameras, a front-mounted fingerprint scanner and runs Android Marshmallow out of the box, with an update to Android 7.0 Nougat readily available.
In Kenya, you can grab the OnePlus 3T via KiliMall at a price of ksh 49,999, but this price gets you the base model with 64GB of storage.
