The wait is finally over! Fans of the Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 can now rest assured that the trio will be coming to Kenya this week alongside the nostalgic Nokia 3310.
The four phones have been selling in a number of countries across the globe for a while now. In fact, the Nokia 6, Nokia 5 and Nokia 3310 are already available in Kenya, but this has been ahead of their official release.
HMD Global, the official licensee of the Nokia brand, has just confirmed that it will be launching the Nokia 3, Nokia 5, Nokia 6 and Nokia 3310 at a special event to be held this week Thursday, 27th, in Nairobi. This is good news for those who have been looking forward to buying these phones, but it spells bad news for the retailers who have been selling the likes of Nokia 3310 and Nokia 6 at exorbitant price tags.
The first Nokia Android phone was released in early January. This was the Nokia 6 and it was only sold to folks in China. After the phone saw huge success, the Finnish company went ahead and confirmed a global release at the MWC 2017 show in Spain back in February. At the time, the company also launched the Nokia 5, Nokia 3 and paid homage to the Nokia 3310, a phone that many are very familiar with.
Globally, the Nokia 6 is priced at 229 euros while the Nokia 5 comes in priced at 189 euros. As for the Nokia 3 and Nokia 3310, the price tags are 139 euros and 49 euros, respectively. As at the time of this writing, you can grab the Nokia 6 in Kenya at a price of Ksh 27,999 while the current Nokia 5 price in Kenya stands at Ksh 19,500.
The Nokia 3310 has just been listed on Jumia Kenya priced ay Ksh 5,500, which is actually the expected price tag once HMD Global confirms its official availability in the country. As for the Nokia 3, we are still waiting for its availability and pricing details, which should be out before this week comes to a conclusion.
