Lenovo already boasts a number of devices under its Yoga lineup that are convertible, but the Chinese company wants to take this to the next level by giving you a laptop that has a foldable display screen.
The current Yoga devices can be used in a variety of modes, including stand, tablet and even laptop modes thanks to the fact that they have a 360-degree rotatable hinge. However, with a dedicated laptop that is foldable, Lenovo wants to take the 2-in-1 form factor to the next level.
At an event in New York, the company showcased a futuristic laptop with a foldable display screen and unlike the Yoga family; this one has nothing to do with hinges. This is exciting, but the company was quick to note that it’s still a concept and nothing concrete just yet.
From the demo, the laptop’s display will be able bend in half and easily folded to shut. The display stretches across a vast part of the laptop and takes a curved design towards the keyboard. There’s no trackpad and it can take in voice commands, which makes it even more futuristic.
At the time of showcasing the foldable laptop, Lenovo did not say a thing regarding the expected features of this device. However, it mentioned that the laptop will be built from advanced materials that will ensure it’s not only flexible, but also robust.
