The Lenovo P2 powerhouse is now receiving the update to Android 7.0 Nougat over the air, but this seems to be restricted to the Indian market as for now.
Being a major OS update, the phone will need to have free storage space of about 2GB because the Nougat update weighs a massive 1957MB. To be sure that it is an update to Android 7.0 Nougat you are downloading onto your Lenovo P2, look out for software version P2a42_S232_170320_ROW. Since this is rolling out over the air, note that it will take time before all units get the notification to download it. You can take a shorter path by heading to Settings>About phone>System updates>Check for updates. The update will also install the monthly security patch for February 2017.
The Lenovo P2 is less than a few months in the smartphone market and it came preinstalled with Android Marshmallow. The biggest selling point of the handset is its huge 5100mAh battery that is supported by fast charging technology that gives you up to 10 hours of usage with just 15 minutes of charging. When full, this huge battery can take the P2 through an impressive three days on a single charge.
As for the rest of the specs, the Lenovo P2 packs a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED screen with a Full HD resolution. Under the hood, there’s a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC clocked at 2.0GHz and paired with either 3GB or 4GB RAM. The storage is 32GB and can be expanded via a microSD card slot. The back of the Lenovo P2 is a 13MP camera while the selfie shooter has a 5MP lens.
Other perks of the Lenovo P2 include a fingerprint scanner, dual-SIM support with 4G VoLTE, and NFC for mobile payments. In India, the P2 starts at a price of Rs 16,999, which is about $260.
