A couple of weeks ago, Android 7.0 Nougat OTA update started rolling out to the Lenovo K6 Power, however, this process did not last long as the company moved in to stop it.

It’s not strange for software updates to not go as planned by the company, which is exactly what happened with the Lenovo K6 Power. The Chinese OEM was hoping that things will be smooth, but the exact opposite happened, with many users of the phone reporting a wide range of issues – issues that resulted in the company to stop the update completely.

Looking at the official Lenovo Forums, users of the Lenovo K6 Power have been facing different problems since the update came out. While others are still able to use their updated phones, others have been completely locked out of their phones. One major case is where the phone’s display turns into white and black lines, leaving users with no chance of seeing or even operating the phone.

Apparently, this was the lead cause for Lenovo’s move to stop the OS update. Once the phone entered this state, the only solution is to visit a Lenovo service center for further assistance, which may include replacement of damaged hardware parts.

Those who are still able to use their Lenovo K6 Power handsets after the update to Android 7.0 Nougat are also experiencing other issues. While there are some improvements in RAM management, this doesn’t have a direct effect on enhanced performance, instead, users are reporting some lags in opening apps and other activities. The update has also disabled the Home option for changing launchers in the phone’s settings while others are reporting a slow fingerprint scanner that takes longer than usual to unlock the phone.

The update to Android 7.0 Nougat has also resulted in issues with connectivity, where the Lenovo K6 Power is experiencing weak network signals for both SIM cards. This causes apps that rely on internet connectivity not to load at all, among them Gmail, Google Chrome or even WhatsApp. Restarting the phone after the update doesn’t help, instead, it leaves one or both SIM cards with no network, but putting the phone on Airplane Mode and back takes care of this problem.

Other Lenovo K6 Power users are also reporting unusual behavior from the Android Launcher, where apps mysteriously disappear when moving from the Home screen to another screen, resulting in a blank screen. Also, changing the wallpaper from the Home screen when in Android Launcher mode is a problem as the launcher constantly crashes whenever one clicks on the Wallpaper icon. Interestingly, everything works pretty fine when using Vibe UI mode.

There are definitely many other issues that Lenovo K6 Power users are experiencing once they’ve updated to Android 7.0 Nougat, but since the company has halted the update, it’s obvious that they are working on the solutions. As for now, we don’t know when the update will resume, but it won’t be long before it does. We’ll be here to update you when it happens.

  1. When I update my Lenovo k6power in 7.0 then I am facing network issues. My Jio volte is working but when I insert two other network sim like Vodafone and Airtel then I am facing network issues. 1 sim working with 2g network but second sim not working. It’s means my 4g network not working with other network accept Jio network pls give any solution.

  4. The theme center app got disabled after the nougat update and it doesn’t allow the app to get enabled again. As the result the lock screen wallpaper can’t be changed.

  5. Absolutely pathetic Nougat upgraded from Lenovo. My K6 power is struggling to connect to any 4G network especially Jio. Performance has deteriorated in multiple aspects. My phone is destroyed by Lenovo.

  6. After the Naughat update phone is lagging,finger print scaner takes more time to respond,and multitasking is difficult.
    Every time I switched off the phone the notification bar rearranging to default.

    Woest update.i think the service centre has nothing to do with it.they only reinstall the software.

    Lenovo should release the new update,with resolving all the issues of the update otherwise situation is gonna wrong.

      1. Shut down your phone
      2. Press vol up + power key (at same time)
      3. Then able to show “Recovery”
      4. Press Recovery and serch option “wipe data factory reset” click
      5.you have many options but one options like ….

      Yeah you have only one options about “YES” click and Tha process has done the phone are automatically redirect to the previous back page simpley. Reboot now

      And your Lenovo k6 Power /. Note are downgrade to factory 6.0 M

      [ And you are by mistake click reboot to bootloader simply long press power botten for half minutes and the phone automatically reboot ]

  7. I have updated to android N in my lenova k6 power . after that i m facing lot of problems.Internet connectivity is very slow and battery getting drained soon.Lenova team wants to fix this problems soon

  8. I have some issues after the update. Dolby icon disappears some time and I could find it again when I edited. Another issue that I am facing is lagging of dailer, when I try to disconnect a call end key doesn’t working. I disconnect the call with power button. I have already enabled it to disconnect the call.

        Lenovo k6 Power k33..(model number) stock marshmallow rom download QFIL ( means Quallacomm flash img loader) this method is officially used by Lenovo or any other Snapdragon processor based mobiles …………………………………………………………………

  10. As on 06.07.2017, Nougat is proving nemesis for Lenovo K6 Power. The dead slowness is unbearable and the frustrating part is no roll back option. All skyscrapers of specification looks good only on paper. Motorola was good without Lenovo. The best hope is wait till next update but then it’s Lenovo with no concrete support standards.

  11. Post the upgrade to Noughat, my Lenovo K6 Power does not connect to any Wi FI networks. It connects for a moment and then disconnects automatically. All other mobiles are able to connect to the Wi Fi. Any potential solutions?

  14. Several problems that I am facing
    1) Lagging would be the no.1
    2) Sometimes earphones don’t emit sound but play pause button works fine, I tried restarting the phone then it starts working properly, why is it happening??
    3) Portrait icon, why is it always there at the status bar
    4) WhatsApp pop-up sometime doesn’t work properly, I reply a message but it’s still showing at the top unread
