Owned by Facebook, Instagram is the leading photo and video sharing platform in the world, but competition is coming in from all angles, including Facebook itself.
Late last year, Instagram users were finally able to enjoy a new live video streaming feature on the platform for sharing and watching live videos of their friends. Dubbed Instagram Live, there was one huge omission when the feature rolled out – the ability to save these live videos once you are done broadcasting them to your followers.
The good side of the story is that this hasn’t taken the developers of the app ages to make it happen. The latest version now lets you save your video broadcasts, just like competing Facebook Live and Twitter’s Periscope. This new feature now puts Instagram Live on the same page with the competition, but since the feature has just started rolling out, it will take some time before all users get it.
Still, you’ll need to download and install the latest version of the app, which is currently at 10.12. The update is rolling out to both Android and iOS users via the Play Store and iOS App Store, respectively.
