[Update: Nougat starts rolling out] Infinix Zero 4 Plus is Testing Android 7.1.1 Nougat – Release Imminent?

Infinix Zero 4 Plus Android 7.1.1 Nougat

[Update]:

Infinix Zero 4 Plus OTA update to Android 7.1.1 Nougat has just started rolling out. The update is quite heavy weighing about 1.8GB, which means you’ll need a Wi-Fi connection to download it. Also, ensure that your phone’s battery is at least 50% before proceeding with the download, alternatively, keep it connected to a power source during the upgrade.

The update also carries the updated XOS 2.1.0, the latest Android security patch as well as a bunch of new features associated with the updated Android 7.1.1 Nougat. Let us know in the comments if you’ve received the OTA notification to download the OS on your Infinix Zero 4 Plus.

Infinix Zero 4 Plus Android 7.1.1 Nougat

Original article…..

In April, Infinix Mobility updated the OS running the Infinix Zero 4 and Note 3 from Android 6.0 Marshmallow to last year’s Android 7.0 Nougat.

The company also confirmed that the high-end Infinix Zero 4 Plus will be updated to Android 7.0 Nougat as from 15th July, which is just days away. The same report also mentioned that the phone will be part of a beta testing process for the Nougat OS as from May 25.

At the time, the Infinix Zero 4 Plus was expected to be updated to Android 7.0 Nougat, just like other Infinix phones. But according to a Geekbench listing, it appears that this flagship will receive the newer Android 7.1.1 Nougat OTA.

The phone has just appeared on the benchmarking platform with v7.1.1 of the Nougat OS running the show. Since it has not received an upgrade to Nougat, it appears that the company might be lining up an update to Android 7.1.1 Nougat instead of the anticipated v7.0. This is a cool move from Infinix, if at all it materializes, but for now, we can’t really tell if this is actually the case.

For those who are taking part in the beta testing program, feel free to comment below with details of what version of Nougat is actually being tested on Infinix Zero 4 Plus.

Would you like to see Android 7.0 or 7.1.1 Nougat on your Infinix Zero 4 Plus? Let us know in your comments below.

    1. It is a reboot. it takes quite a bit of time to come back on. It will come back on and do the upgrade. if you force it back on, the upgrade will fail.
      Best of luck

        1. Sorry mate, you may have to wait for the second return of the OTA notification because Infinix has not yet provided the download files/links for manual updates thus far.

          1. Figured this out,the installer (OTA or Manual) will do a check to see if the charger is connected,if not, your phone will remain off and installation will not proceed, you will need to press power button to start your phone and installation will have failed.
So after download completion before you press ‘install’ connect your charger first even if the phone has sufficient charge. The device will go black but it will be vibrating after intervals just to inform you something is happening in the background. It will light up after approx 10min with progress bar of the installation.
Your device should be fully updated after this.

  4. I have already installed Nougat 7.1.1 on my Infinix Zero 4 Plus and it still has issues. My phone keeps randomly shutting down which is very annoying.
