Since the launch of the Infinix Note 4, fans of the Note series have been asking when the Infinix Note 4 Pro will be available for purchase.
The company responded by promising that the Note 4 Pro will be here in August. Well, the time has come and true to its word, the high-end variant of this year’s Note family will be available for purchase starting this coming Monday, August 28. Unlike the standard Note 4 that was at first exclusive to Jumia, this model will be exclusive to Kilimall – alongside the Infinix Hot 5 and Hot 5 Lite – but other retailers should start stocking it at a later time.
We had our reasons to believe that the standard Infinix Note 4 is not a worthy buy, especially since the phone doesn’t seem to be a significant upgrade over the Note 3. But with the Infinix Note 4 Pro, there are a number of additions that make it a much sweeter deal than the Note 4 or even the Note 3 Pro, although not so much with respect to the latter.
We know everything there is to know about the Infinix Note 4 Pro. The phone has a beautiful full metal unibody and a premium finish, both of which should deliver an elegant feel when rocking this phone. The screen size and quality are more than perfect – a 5.7-inch Full HD panel with Gorilla Glass protection to ensure that it doesn’t easily catch scratches or cracks in case of accidental falls.
When compared to the standard Note 4, the Note 4 Pro has nothing different to offer in terms of display quality, but it’s more powerful on the inside than its counterpart. Although the same MediaTek MT6753 processor clocked at 1.3GHz is used, the RAM is upped to 3GB and the storage gets even better at 32GB, still with room to expand using a microSD card of up to 128GB.
In addition to the improved RAM and storage, the Infinix Note 4 Pro also gets a bigger battery unit of 4500mAh, 200mAh more than the Note 4. Both phones support X-Charge fast charging technology, but the Note 4 Pro is faster than the Note 4.
If you are used to a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner on Infinix phones, you better be ready for a huge surprise. The Infinix Note 4 Pro, like the standard model, has this sensor on the front panel, which also doubles as the home button. The cameras have a 13MP lens on the back and an 8MP shooter on the front, which should be perfect for selfies. In terms of software, the entire Note family has Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box and like the Note 3 and Note 3 Pro did, we expect this new pair to receive Android 8.0 Oreo at some point next year.
As you can see, the Pro variant has a better processing unit, the latest – not the newest – software, and promises a longer battery life, features that form part the core aspects smartphone users look for when buying a phone, but you haven’t heard about the unique part of the phone.
The Infinix Note 4 Pro is set to become the first phone in the company’s not-so-long list of phones to feature a stylus. You must have heard about this technology thanks to the popular Samsung Galaxy Note series. Well, this is exactly – not really – what the X Pen stylus is all about. Like on the Galaxy Note 5, for instance, you will be able to take notes as well as make drawings using the X Pen on your Note 4 Pro.
Since this is the company’s first attempt into the productivity aspect of phones, you shouldn’t expect the X Pen to do a lot of stuff, but with more software updates, things should definitely get better.
At last, Infinix seems to have found the true identity of the “Note” series thanks to this X Pen stylus, but the best part of it is that it brings this feature to the budget market – a feature that is usually associated with the high-end smartphone market. This only shows how Infinix Mobility wants you to have the best of features without the need to break the bank. The X Pen also makes the Note 4 Pro stand out in the congested budget smartphone market.
When it goes official, Infinix Note 4 Pro will be priced at Ksh 19,499 on Kilimall.
