Users of the Infinix Note 3 Pro may soon be able to download and install the latest Android 7.0 Nougat update to this device.
If a listing on Geekbench is anything to go by, the Infinix Note 3 Pro will be receiving the update to Android 7.0 Nougat in the coming weeks. The company appears to be testing the OS on the phone ahead of release, which could happen somewhere in the middle of this month.
Not so long ago, reports emerged confirming that the Infinix Note 3 series will be part of the devices to be updated to Android 7.0 Nougat. Now that the high-end Infinix Note 3 Pro has appeared in benchmarks with this OS running the show, it’s just a matter of time before the entire Note 3 series gets the update.
From the listing, the updated Infinix Note 3 Pro manages some impressive scores when put through single and multi-core tests. Where it recorded a score of 614 in the former test, the latter yielded a score of 2565. These scores are as a result of a device being powered by a MediaTek MT6753 SoC clocked at 1.3GHz and is paired with a RAM of 3GB. We should be able to see better scores when Infinix Mobility is done with all software optimizations and releases the stable version.
Looking at history, when a device appears in benchmarks with a new, unreleased OS on board, it is possible that the OS is being tested. With this in mind, users of the Infinix Note 3 Pro as well as the standard Note 3 can expect to see the stable update a few weeks from now, possibly before the end of this month. This should also be the case for the likes of Infinix Zero 4 and Zero 4 Plus, which were also released in 2016.
