Huawei Honor 6X starts Getting Android 7.0 Nougat OTA Update

Huawei Honor 6X

At the end of February, a report came in saying that the Huawei Honor 6X will be receiving the update to Android 7.0 Nougat somewhere in April or May.

Well, even before any of these estimated dates are here, it appears that the Chinese variant of the phone is already receiving the update to Android 7.0 Nougat. As you may know, the Huawei Honor 6X is a China-made phone thanks to Huawei’s deep roots in the country. It seems the OEM is giving the local market the first priority and rolling out the update well ahead of schedule.

Note that this Honor 6X update is a stable version and it comes after months of testing, bringing with it software build version B357. Like many other Nougat updates, the Honor 6X will receive its treat in batches, which means that some devices will get it ahead of others.

The Huawei Honor 6X has four variants in China that include BLN-TL00, BLN-TL10, BLN-AL10 and BLN-AL20. All of these variants are receiving this update to Android 7.0 Nougat all at once. As noted, there are some Honor 6X users that have been on the beta program for the OS. This group will receive an update that weighs about 260MB. As for the rest of the party, make sure you have more than 2.15GB of free storage space before you think of downloading and installing the Nougat OS on your 6X.

We don’t really know when this update will be available to global users of the Huawei Honor 6X. But now that it’s on, it won’t be long before other markets start receiving it, probably before the month comes to an end. However, it might take up to the whole of next month before all Honor 6X phones are updated to Android 7.0 Nougat worldwide.
