Huawei Honor 5C (Honor 7 Lite) Starts Receiving Android 7.0 Nougat Update

Huawei Honor 5C or Honor 7 Lite Android 7.0 Nougat

Earlier this month, we picked up a report confirming that the Huawei Honor 5C or rather the Honor 7 Lite will soon be receiving the new Android 7.0 Nougat update.

According to the latest reports coming from Malaysia, those using the Huawei Honor 5C can now register to receive the new Android 7.0 Nougat update. The registration opened today and so far, only those in this Asian country can join. Even though not all regions have this chance, it confirms our earlier indication that the update could be here in a matter of weeks.

The updated Huawei Honor 5C will not receive a stable version of Android 7.0 Nougat, rather, this is a beta testing program that will allow select members of the public to test the OS on their devices before the company embarks on a mass rollout.

Be warned that beta software usually comes with errors, bugs and a wide range of other issues that are meant to be fixed gradually as the software stabilizes – you’ll be part of this experience all the way up to the time the software is stable and rolled out to the rest of the Honor 5C fraternity.

The OS will also bring the latest EMUI 5.0 skin and hopefully, the latest Android security patch for the month of February – or at least January.

To get into the program, you need to register your Honor 5C phone via the official Huawei website for Malaysia. We’ll keep following the matter and let you know when the global rollout commences. As for you, stay tuned!
