HTC One X10 will Feature a MediaTek SoC, HTC U Ultra is a Big-Screen Flagship for 2017

HTC U Play

Ever since HTC teased its upcoming event to be held on January 12, a lot has been coming in with respect to three devices namely HTC One X10, HTC Ocean Note or HTC U Ultra and the HTC U Play or HTC Alpine.

These three phones are said to be among the list the company is planning to roll out this Q1 2017, with a possibility of some of them appearing at the said event next week. The three have been in the rumors since last year, but clearer details are now emerging about them, with the HTC One X10 and U Play leading the way.

According to reports, the HTC One X10 will come in with a MediaTek P10 processor, which means it will simply be a mere upgrade to the One X9 released last year. Another phone that the Taiwanese company will be releasing is the HTC U Play, which has the codename HTC Alpine. There is little known about this phone, but recent leaks suggest that the U Play is the smaller sibling of the U Ultra with a 5.2-inch display screen. There will be no 3.5mm headphone jack.

As for the HTC U Ultra, which has the codename HTC Ocean Note, the leak says that the phone will be the phablet flagship of 2017 from the company. Like the HTC U Play, there won’t be a 3.5mm headphone jack on the phablet, which also be 6 inches in size as far as the display screen is concerned.

The HTC One X10 should keep just about the same design language as the One X9, but of course, there should be touches here and there. With the HTC teaser featuring a “U” in it, many have touted the HTC U Ultra and HTC U Play as the likeliest to be launched at this coming event. Still, it is hard to rule out the X10, especially since its predecessor came at about the same time.
