Google Pixel XL 2

We are aware that Google Pixel and Pixel XL will be succeeded by Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2. These are not the confirmed names, though, but so far, we’ve heard quite a number of details regarding these 2017 Pixel phones.

For starters, we know that the Google Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 will be codenamed Walleye and Muskie, respectively. However, somewhere towards mid-May, a third device codenamed Taimen popped up on Geekbench, giving rise to rumors that the tech giant could be working on a Google Nexus 7 or Nexus 9 successor. This leak added more weight to previous reports that the 2017 Google Pixel devices will be powered by Snapdragon 835, 4GB RAM and the latest Android O.

In the latest developments, the Google Pixel XL 2 has just made an appearance on benchmarking platform GFXBench. Here, we have more details of the phone as opposed to what happened with the Taimen. If anything, this leaked Pixel XL 2 phone should be the Muskie and from what we have, the phone will come with top-notch specs and features, similar to what we see on the likes of Samsung Galaxy S8 and other high-end phones.

Apparently, the Google Pixel XL 2 is set to come in with a slightly bigger screen of 5.6 inches with an aspect ratio of 18:9, same as the LG G6 and Galaxy S8. This panel will get a display resolution of 2560 x 1312 pixels and under the hood, there will be the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC that is clocked at 2.4GHz and is paired with an Adreno 540 GPU, 4GB RAM and an impressive 128GB of storage.

For the cameras, it appears that there will be a few improvements here and there compared to the already magnificent package that appeared on the Google Pixel and Pixel XL. The listing reveals a 13MP back camera with support for 4K video recording, autofocus and LED flash, among other goodies. As for the front, the Google Pixel XL 2 will keep the same 8MP used on the 2016 models alongside support for 4K video recording.
