Despite the shift in the pricing of the Google Pixel phones when compared to last year’s Google Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X, the demand for the new phones has been extraordinary.
Those who have tried buying the Google Pixel will agree that this phone hasn’t been the easiest to find in the market right now. Launched in early October, the Pixel phones went on sale a couple of weeks later, but ever since, the phone has been elusive for many, but there’s finally some good news coming in.
Apparently, the Google Store has a limited supply of the Google Pixel phone. Starting Tuesday this week, the official online store owned by the search engine giant started selling a limited set of the Pixel phones. If you are interested in the smaller Google Pixel phone, you can only get the 32GB variant on the Google Store right away. However, those looking to get the high-end 128GB model will have to wait until next week. At the same time, the Google Pixel XL is not yet available, but Google has promised to start shipments in four to five weeks from now.
The Google Pixel is the first to be designed by Google from top to bottom. Where the smaller Pixel comes with a 5-inch AMOLED screen featuring a Full HD resolution, you get a larger 5.5-inch AMOLED screen on the Pixel XL with QHD resolution. In terms of performance, the two are powered by the latest Snapdragon 821 SoC alongside a RAM of 4GB. Both have two storage options of 32GB and 128GB and as usual, there is no microSD card storage.
The smaller Google Pixel is priced at $649 for the base model while the high-end model costs $749. Getting the 32GB variant of the Google Pixel XL asks for $769 while $100 more will earn you a 128GB variant of the same model.
It is not the first time the Google Pixel phone has run out of stock. In fact, the phone has been hard to come by this holiday season and whenever it is availed, it sells out quickly. The story is even worse when talking of the high-end Pixel XL.
Other than getting the Google Pixel from the company’s online store, willing buyers can also check with Verizon Wireless or Best Buy, but again, you will come across mixed availability for both models.
