When Infinix Mobility launched the Infinix S2 Pro with a dual 13MP+8MP front camera in April, many were impressed by this phone’s ability when it came to capturing selfies. However, little did the local market know that Oppo is the king of selfie cameras, something that made us pit the Infinix S2 Pro against the Oppo F1s.
While the Oppo F1s has some top-notch camera specs on board, the recently-launched Oppo F3 takes everything to the next level. The phone easily brushes aside the S2 Pro with all of its quality thanks to a massive 16MP+8MP selfie camera that is accompanied by a flurry of software optimizations meant to take the quality of photography a notch higher.
However, one thing that always meant the Infinix S2 Pro would remain many people’s favorite is the price tag. Where the S2 Pro will set you back less than Ksh 16,000, the Oppo F3 demands that you part with about Ksh 33,000 in order to have it. This is not a small amount of money in Kenya and lucky you, Jumia, the leading online retailer in the country, has a massive discount on this phone that takes off an impressive 31% from the normal price.
Rather than pay Ksh 33,000, Jumia has listed the Oppo F3 for a discounted price of Ksh 22,799. This is not something you’ll come by every day and as such, it’s better to grab this deal while it lasts. The seller, Gadget and Electronics, hasn’t mentioned whether this deal is limited or not, but it’s better to be there first than wait, for things might have changed by then.
For a recap of the specs you are getting, the Oppo F3 ships with a decent 5.5-inch LCD display screen that boasts a 1080 resolution and the best of protection in Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5. Under the hood, the selfie expert has a midrange MediaTek MT6750T processor that boasts eight Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.5GHz and paired with a RAM of 4GB. There’s 64GB of storage, which can also be expanded via a microSD card of up to 256GB.
As noted, the Oppo F3 has a dual 16MP+8MP selfie camera. Where the main 16MP lens has an aperture of f/2.0, the secondary 8MP lens has a smaller f/2.4 aperture. These two work closely to deliver the best shots possible. As for the back, you get a decent 13MP lens that includes an f/2.2 aperture, PDAF, LED flash and support for 1080p video recording, which is a minor disappointment, though negligible, especially at this discounted price tag.
To keep the Oppo F3 alive is a 3200mAh battery unit that is charged via a microUSB port. You also get a front-mounted fingerprint scanner, 4G LTE support, dual-SIM connectivity, Bluetooth 4.1, A-GPS, 3.5mm audio jack and ColorOS 3.0-based Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS out of the box.
Update: Unfortunately, the deal is no more. The phone’s price is back to normal, where it’s listed at Ksh 32,799.
