Tecno W5 Lite is a great phone for those who aren’t heavy users. By heavy users I mean those who never stop browsing the web (literally), streaming YouTube videos, playing games (online and offline), watching videos (offline) and doing lots of other resource-intensive stuff on their phones.
As the name suggests, the Tecno W5 Lite is a phone meant for light activities, but this doesn’t mean you still won’t be able to check out what your friends are up on Facebook, capture and post your favorite photos and moments on Instagram or maybe share a nice read (like this one) on Twitter, just to name but a few.
If you are in the market for this kind of phone, the Tecno W5 Lite is now selling on Jumia at a discounted price of just ksh 8,599 (excluding delivery fee). It gets even better for those who buy it right now as the retailer is also throwing in a freebie in the shape of the Red Boom headsets.
As for the specs, the Tecno W5 Lite is a budget phone that comes with a 5.5-inch HD display screen, a MediaTek quad-core SoC with a clock speed of 1.3GHz and paired with just 1GB RAM and 16GB of expandable storage. For optics, the back has a 13MP shooter with f/2.0 aperture, autofocus (AF) and LED flash while the front has a 5MP shooter that also comes with a LED flash for better shots even when night falls.
Software-wise, the Tecno W5 Lite ships with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box, which is not bad for a phone that is priced at under ksh 9K. To keep it alive is a decent 3000mAh battery unit, which should be enough to take you through an entire day or even more, depending on your usage. Be warned that the W5 Lite only supports 2G and 3G connectivity.
