Last year November, Xiaomi took the world by storm when it unveiled the near bezel-less Mi MIX.
The phone was a massive upgrade over the curved edge Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, where the only place you can find a bezel is the bottom part of the phone. As you may know, Samsung has been leading the way when it comes to curved screens in smartphones. We saw it experiment with the Galaxy Note Edge back in 2014, where the phone has one side featuring a curved screen.
The Korean tech giant stepped up the game with the Galaxy S6 Edge and S6 Edge+ the following year and refined the same in 2016. This year, Samsung took things to the next level with the Galaxy S8 and S8+, but this was months after Xiaomi Mi MIX had been released. As noted, the Mi MIX has no bezels on the sides and top, something that is expected to be improved on when the next-generation Mi MIX 2 comes to life later this year.
Xiaomi has just confirmed that it has begun discussions on the design of the 2017 Mi MIX 2 flagship. The phone is expected to have a minimalist design that will take the smartphone world to the next level, once again.
There’s no mention of the date that Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 will be unveiled, but since the 2016 model was announced in October, it makes sense that the company has already started preparations at this point in time. If anything, you can expect the Mi MIX 2 to be here at about the same time – October/November 2017.
