A few days ago we bumped into a report that suggested Android 7.0 Nougat OTA update will be available for a series of Infinix phones that include last year’s Infinix Zero 4 and Infinix Zero 4 Plus, among other models.
Well, today, we have something more concrete coming from the company itself and apparently, it seems not all previously listed Infinix phones will be in for the Nougat treat. So far, the new listing confirms that only three phones will be updated to the latest Android 7.0 Nougat via an OTA update and these are Infinix Zero 4, Infinix Zero 4 Plus as well as Infinix Note 3.
The trio of Infinix Zero 4, Zero 4 Plus and Infinix Note 3 was unveiled in 2016, but as you probably know already, the Zero 4 series is the high-end offering from the company as at the time of this writing. All three phones came preinstalled with Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which makes the upcoming Android 7.0 Nougat OTA the first major update they’ll be receiving.
Infinix Mobility has confirmed that the three phones’ update to Android 7.0 Nougat is “coming soon”. But there’s no specific date mentioned. Still, sources close to the matter are adamant that the update could be made available to the three handsets starting mid-April.
Initially, other rumors had claimed that the likes of Infinix Zero 3, Infinix Hot S, Infinix Hot S Pro and Infinix Hot 4 will also be receiving the update to Nougat, but from the latest developments, it has not been confirmed if this will indeed be the case. Of course, we’ll be here to update you on any Android 7.0 Nougat developments as far as these phones – and other Infinix phones – are concerned. Stay tuned!
