Apple is the role model for many smartphone OEMs in the world. However, China’s Oppo has taken this ideal to the next level with the latest Oppo R11 smartphone.

The phone has been in the rumor mills for quite some time now and in fact, we already know that it will be made official on June 10. Just before this day is here, the Chinese OEM has put up the Oppo R11 for pre-orders in the local market of China.

Of course, the Oppo R11 will first be launched in China and if all goes well, it will make it to other markets in the coming weeks, probably throughout June and well into July. While the rumors and leaks had already given us a clue of what the phone will look like, the latest listing on the official Oppo website gives us a clearer picture of how gorgeous this phone is.

If you’ve been an admirer of the Apple iPhone 7 Plus in terms of just how it looks like, well, you’ll soon get to enjoy an almost similar feeling with the Oppo R11, but definitely at a cheaper price than the Apple flagship. Speaking of price, the company has not yet confirmed the cost of this phone, but looking at what it brings to the table not just in terms of design but also the specs and features, you can expect a price tag that is in the regions of $400 and above.

The product details page has the details of the Oppo R11 specs, all of which are a confirmation of what has been appearing in rumors and leaks. However, the company has not confirmed whether or not the R11 will be accompanied by a bigger R11 Plus.

Nonetheless, the specs on board the Oppo R11 are impressive. These include a 5.5-inch 1080p display screen, a Snapdragon 660 SoC paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage. The back has a massive 20MP+16MP dual-lens camera that appears in the same location as the iPhone 7 Plus while the front has a 20MP lens for selfies. The dual-lens camera setup consists of a telephoto lens and a wide-angle lens that make use of Qualcomm’s Spectra ISP imaging platform. All these are then enclosed in a beautiful and premium-looking metallic unibody build that borrows a lot from Apple’s iPhones.

You can pre-order the Oppo R11 in three color variants of gold, rose gold and a brand new black color variant, which almost looks like the jet black iPhone 7 Plus. Even though we expect Android 7.1.1 Nougat to run the show, the listing on Oppo’s website doesn’t go into such details.

We’ll update this article with the pricing and availability details as soon as they are available. Stay tuned.
